Food Drive Information
The Friends of Assisi Food Pantry in Danielson is a volunteer effort to help the neediest residents of our own community survive difficult times, by providing food and basic groceries at no charge. Everything that the Food Pantry purveys has its roots in someone else's care and generosity. In a country where there isn't a reason for any child to starve, these folks have taken the lead to help our neighbors.

Townline Auto Group is glad to help by providing a drop off point for non-perishable food and groceries during the week of September 17th to September 24th. While the food pantry is only open a limit amount of hours on just two days a week, Townline's location is very available. Please see the rest of our website for our location and operating hours.

Blood Drive Information
Each year, through the valiant efforts the American Red Cross, thousand of lives are saved, and hundreds of thousands of surgical procedures are made safer through blood donations. Isn't time you donated?

If you have not been exposed to HIV, hepatitis, or other immune-deficient diseases, have been healthy and have not been out of the country in the last several months, you are probably a great candidate to be a lifesaver for someone who has your same blood type.

Townline's ASE certified technicians are excellent, but we are going to rely on the expertise of Red Cross professionals to hold a Blood Drive on Tuesday September 20th from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. Walk-ins are welcome but pre-registration is even better so we can get you in and out! A special room right off to the side of our comfortable waiting area will be provided for the convenience of the event. Complimentary coupons and refreshments will be made available. Call Carrie at (860) 774 -0030... Please be a hero, come donate blood.

Community Yard Sale Information
Townline's entire staff lives in Northeastern Connecticut. Many of us went to school right here, and most of us have had children that did, or now benefit from the efforts of our local school districts. Having the resources to do just a little more for each child often comes down how willing a community is to “go the extra mile”. Townline is helping by providing all of the background effort necessary to hold a successful Community Yard Sale to the benefit of public schools in the immediately surrounding towns of Brooklyn, Plainfield, and Killingly.

On Saturday, September 24th a Yard Sale event will be hosted at Townline Auto Group on Route 12 at the Danielson / Plainfield line (see the rest of our website for more complete directions). This rain or shine event will be held from 8:30 AM until 2:30 PM. Townline will heavily market this event for the registered sellers, including television commercials courtesy of Cox Media, and a same day live radio broadcast from WINY 1350AM. Free refreshments will be generously provided by the BIG Y Supermarket of Danielson.

The spirit of this event is to raise money for extra-curricular resources for the three surrounding public school districts. To do this, we ask that the sellers at the yard sale donate their cash proceeds on the honor system, in provided envelopes that will have a check-off for the district of the seller's choice.

There will be prizes awarded for the three highest donations based on merchandise sales!

There is a $10 dollar table registration fee which is the seller's bond that they will show up so no one is disappointed, however this will be refunded to seller as they set up their table on the 24th in the form of a $20 dollar gift certificate for Townline's Service Department, or $10 back in cash, at the stated option of the seller at time of registration. Those registered sellers that don't show up will forfeit the $10 fee.

Register Today by calling Bobby D. at Townline Auto Group (860) 774-0030.

Anything you might sell in a public Yard and Garage sale is permissible, as long as it not an automotive vehicle. The seller is solely responsible for setting up and breaking down their own sales area. Any seller that leaves unsold merchandise behind will not be allowed to register for next year's event. Bathroom facilities and tables, chairs and tents will be made available by Townline.

Our contact persons at the schools are:

Brooklyn PTO President Joan Trivella at 774-3589
Killingly Learning for Life Fund Coordinator Bob Brennan at 779-6663
Plainfield High School Contacts Sue Rourke & Rena Cadrow at 564-6403

Proceeds will be tallied and forwarded to the school contacts within one week of the close of the event.
